Sine and Harmonic Filters for Hire

Sine Filters

3 phase sine filters rated up to 1800Amps, designed for use with variable speed drives (VSD) to allow a ‘clean’ sinusoidal wave form for either motor or mains supply conversion applications. These allow VSD operation on motors with cable lengths greater than 100Meter, or motors with low insulation class or used on submerged pump type applications. They also allow a clean waveform when frequency, voltage or both are been controlled by the VSD to use a mains supply converter.

Harmonic Filters

Harmonic filters, 3 phase passive or active harmonic filters to reduce THD voltage and current levels to meet recommended G5/5 requirements. Harmonics are generated by switching devices (such as VSD) and a temporary hire option can prove the THD reductions before a permanent solution is purchased, as well as reducing overheating in transformer windings, mains cables and early deterioration of power capacitors.

What is a Sine Filter?

A sine filter is used with a variable speed drive (VSD) to improve the waveform supplied to a motor. It converts the PWM output from the VSD into a cleaner sinusoidal waveform, helping to reduce the electrical stresses that can occur between the drive and motor.

What are Harmonic Filters?

Harmonic filters are used to reduce harmonic distortion within electrical systems. Harmonics can be generated by non-linear electrical equipment, including variable speed drives and other power electronic equipment.

Excessive harmonic distortion can affect the performance and efficiency of electrical equipment and may contribute to additional heating in transformers, cables and other components.

Our Harmonic Filter Options

Passive Harmonic Filters

A solution for reducing specific harmonic components within an electrical system.

Active Harmonic Filters

An electronically controlled solution designed to compensate for harmonic currents and help reduce overall harmonic distortion.
