WHAT IS A HARMONIC DATA LOGGER?
An electronic device that monitors both grid mains voltage and current, these can suit most configurations such as 3 phase and neutral, split or single-phase supplies.
There are 2 main types of logging depending on either G5/4 or G5/5 requirements, the main difference being G5/5 requires high frequency band logging to allow up to the 100th harmonic level. G5/4 requests to the 50th harmonic level.
G5/4 is used for existing installation, G5/5 for new (in general). The loggers not only record the voltage and current data, but also download into its own reporting software.

Switching devices such as LED lighting and VSD motor controllers can cause harmonics and effect mains supplies, when adding these types of loads, the logger can be used to determine the mains are still within specifications required
