How can I change the speed of an ABB ACS800 drive?

Q. Our company uses an ABB drive (ACS800) and we need to start it in a variable speed that depends on a variable current(4-20mA). We studied the manual again and again, but the speed is fixed and will not change. Could you please advise how can we change the speed?

A. Firstly, check that you have the keypad in REMOTE control, this will ensure the drive is looking for a start signal from the Analogue Inputs. I would say you may have the keypad currently in LOCAL control which is why the drive is looking for a start reference from the keypad and not the 4-20mA signal.
